Undetectable and silent a thread interlaces a connection that goes beyond words creating a subtle dance between human and horses. A mirror is created and some people forget about it when around horses.

Horses make you look inward and contemplate the energy you are carrying inside, and you may not even realize it.

I always think if there is one quote horses would say, it would be:

You are responsible for the energy you bring into this space”

They will let you know what your energy is and if they will allow it.

If you approach a horse with trust and calmness, more than likely the horse will be relaxed. However, if you approach a horse feeling anxious or stressed, the horse may become restless and seem uncooperative. Some horses may be more expressive than others and you better have your emotions in check before attempting to handle them. Just as some horses will patiently help you get your emotions in check.

The connection between humans and horses is very unique. Horses being a prey animal and allowing us to be a part of their world is amazing. It makes sense it is our responsibility for the energy we bring to them. Being a prey animal they naturally feel the energy around them and decide if it is safe or they should take flight.

Spend time with a horse, and you’ll quickly realize how in tune they are with your emotions. They will mirror back to you how you are feeling. Whether you are on the ground or in the saddle, this silent conversation of energy exchange can open up and enhance the bond. Remain focused and calm and your horse will respond accordingly. If you are scattered, jittery, worried or frustrated you are more likely going to have that mirrored back to you with the same. Horses prefer balance, calm and harmony.

In some cases, there are times you may think your energy is calm and balanced and your horse lets you know that isn’t the case. Believe them. Before you get frustrated, honestly look inward and see if you may be thinking or feeling less calming energy.

When it comes to horses, they are a true mirror. When you realize this and believe them, the bond you seek will miraculously grow between you and your horse.
